April Birthday Cake

I made this yummy cake for my other half's birthday.

Peaches and Cream Cake

  • 1 can (15-1/4 ounces) sliced peaches, undrained
  • 1 package (18-1/4 ounces) yellow cake mix
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • homemade whip cream
  • extra peaches

  • Drain peaches, reserving juice. Add enough water to juice to measure 1-1/4 cups. Put peaches in a mini food proc. and cut until small pieces (don't turn to mush), put in mesh strainer to remove any extra juice; put in the refrigerator until cakes cool.
  • In a large bowl, beat the cake mix, peach juice mixture, oil and eggs on low speed for 30 seconds. Beat on medium for 2 minutes. Pour into two greased and floured 9-in. round baking pans. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
  • Spread chopped peaches on top of one cake and top with the other cake. Spread homemade whip cream over the top of the cake and decorate with extra peaches. This needs to be served the same day and kept in the refrigerator until served. After a day homemade whip cream will become watery. If you want to keep it for a couple days in the refrigerator top each piece with homemade whip cream and peaches just before serving or use whip topping instead.

Enjoy! T =)

Crocheting For The NH Special Olympics

Greetings Creative Friends,

I have always wanted to be able to use my creations to help a good cause and I finally got the chance. Shortly after Christmas while surfing the web for my usual creative stuff I stumbled upon the scarf project for Special Olympics. I was so excited. I had one of the official colors on hand but not the other. I jumped online and ordered the blue official color I needed and while I waited for it to arrive I started crocheting with the color I had. I made a total of four scarves for my home state of NH's Special Olympics Team. I dropped the package in the mail the other day so they should be getting my scarves anytime now. I was quite proud of myself and it really made me happy knowing I was able to help even if it was just a little bit. I only wish I had time to make more. Maybe next year. To my knowledge the official colors for next year (2012) are being revealed in April of this year. Can't Wait! NH's deadline is coming up but there are other states that still need scarves. If you are looking to help a great cause and want the freedom to be creative with limited restrictions this is the cause for you!

Have a Happy Creative Day!

This pattern is super easy to make. It probally will take you less than a half hour to make. I just love my T-Shirt Moo Moo dress and I hope you do to.

Note: I prefer a heavier wieght T-Shirt but a standard T-Shirt would work just fine.

The Colors Of New Hampshire... Home Sweet Home

This Month I would like to share my attempt at crochet art. While in my home state of NH on vacation this year. I was inspired by the beautiful display of nature around me. I started crocheting pieces of my "Master Piece" while touring the NH country side on our day trips in the White Mountains. I decided to feature my version of Mt Washington in my creation. Here it is...

Nothing makes you smile more than crocheting in a field of Lupines!

About This Project:

I crocheted this project in sections and then stitched to together. I stretched the final piece over card board and stitch around the edges to secure it. My stitches around the edge are "Rustic"... nothing fancy. I wanted them to look that way. =)

It's Begining To Look Like A Crafty Christmas...

 November 2010 Blog Hop

This month I have been working on hats (Crochet) I will be giving as Christmas Gifts as well a some knitted cotton dish cloths. Thanks to one of our fellow Creative Friends... TStitchesandCraft's Site Member Joy I have been able to make quite a few hats in the time it normally would take to make one. The pattern link she shared (See my PDF link below) was a life saver because the pattern is super easy and quick to make. I just love it! On the home page you will find the pictures of the hats Joy made using this same pattern.

I made an easy print PDF file for you. The original pattern link is included in the PDF.

Here are 4 of the 7 or 8 hats I have made and my knitted cotton dish cloths (The dish cloth to the bottom left of the dark green hat is crocheted). I will be giving the dish cloths as Christmas Gifts to. I plan to wrap them up with a small bottle of pretty orange scented and orange colored dish soap.

How to knit a dish cloth:

Size 8 knitting needles

Cast on 25 stitches

knit until cloth is around 6 inches long, cast off and hide tails.

Close Ups =)

Happy Creating and Have a Wonderful Holiday Season!
