February 2009
Hello Creative Friends,
I have survived another chilly month here in Massachusetts. I have been working on my website and my creations. I finished the scarves I was making for my friends at work. I was very happy the girls loved them. I am sitting in my favorite spot enjoying a cup of coffee and watching my birds have breakfast. I just love my Saturday mornings! I learned a how to create a new crochet square the other day from one of my favorite PBS shows I was watching. I plan to make one and post it on the website with instructions soon. I have added more to this month’s newsletter so I hope you like the new additions. I believe this will be the permanent structure for my newsletter so let me know what you think. I am also looking for your additions you would like to share so please feel free to send them to me. On a final note I want to Thank Everyone who has joined my website. I hope you find it helpful and please feel to share any feedback you may have. I would love to hear from you… tstitchesandcrafts@gmail.com. Special Thank You to:
I would like to Thank Kree-ations the owner of www.kree-ations.webs.com (Homemade Creations for Mums and Babies for sale and more!) for her additions to my website and her support and kindness. This Newby to Web Design greatly appreciates your help.
And Last but Not Least I would like to say Thank You to Lisa the owner of one of my favorite crochet websites… http://www.crochetnmore.com (Free crochet patterns and more!) for her generous offer to put a link to my site on hers and for providing me and others a Great Website with so much Great Information.
Well I think my gift of gab as my mom calls it has taken over so let me wrap this up so you can enjoy the rest of the newsletter.
Have a Happy Creative Day Everyone!
J Warmest Regards, T

A Simple 4 Inch Baby Booties
You can knit your squares, crochet them, sew them, and you may even be able to come up with a few other ways to create your squares as well but you really must try making these booties! I was amazed how simple they really are to make.
Materials:
Loom, needles, hook, or your craft supplies of choice
Small amount of baby or worsted weight yarn in the color or colors of your choice
Scissors
Large-eye blunt yarn needle
Instructions:
Knit, Crochet, etc. – Make 2 4 inch squares
![]()
1. Fold one of the squares in half to form a rectangle. Stitch the right short side to form the heel.
![]()
2. Stitch from the left corner to roughly the center leaving an opening for the baby’s foot to go into the bootie.
3. Make a running stitch around the front opening and then
pull to cinch closed; tie a knot to secure.
4. Decorate with pompoms, laces, etc.
5. Using the second square repeat these steps to finish your second bootie.

Do you love to knit/crochet, want to help the needy? We invite other knitters/crocheters to join us and knit/crochet at your own pace at home, work or wherever to make items to be donated to charities who assist the homeless; abused; women/children's refuges; needy families; prem babies; cancer patients, animal shelters etc. The charities must give the items we donate DIRECTLY to those in need.
You can also find a forum post regarding this charity on my website. It is located in the Creative Friends Forum under the category Knitting. Look for the post Knitting for Charity by Kree-ations.
Note: Baby Booties are on their list of things needed. J T
